What is Hot Yoga?

Hot Yoga is a dynamic and energetic form of exercise practiced in a large heated room. It consists of a series of postures and two breathing exercises. These postures are designed to help align your body, strengthen your spine, and increase core strength. The sequences of the postures are important. Each new pose prepares you for the next. Students learn to place new demands upon themselves, working harder and gaining determination with each succeeding class.

What is "beginner" Hot Yoga?

Beginner hot yoga is similar to our regular hot yoga classes with two differences. First, the room is not as hot. Second, although the postures and sequences are the same, each posture is explained more thoroughly. All of our hot yoga classes are designed to be "user" friendly. This class is "beginner" friendly!

What is Hot Power Yoga?

Hot Power Yoga consists of a series of advanced postures practiced in a large heated room. This class is designed for those students wanting to take their practice to another level of fitness. We have added a touch of pilates (repetition) to make it even more challenging than a traditional yoga class. This flowing practice detoxifies the body and is an amazing form of fitness that will tone muscles while building a stronger, healthier body. The class is designed to be challenging, but at the same time user friendly. Most students will be able to do all of the postures, but to the extent you are able to move deeper into the poses will depend upon the individual's ability and perseverance. What is Hot Flowmotion?

Flowmotion is a series of beginner yoga postures. These postures are sequenced to lead you into a flowing, energetic practice. In this class you will hold postures for a shorter period of time than in a traditional yoga class. This class is designed to lengthen (stretch) most of the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the body. In addition, we've added some Pilates (repetition) to help strengthen the core muscles. As a bonus, you'll burn a lot of calories too!

Why "Hot" Yoga?

The room is heated by design to properly warm up muscles, which allows you to build and maintain a proper flow to your movements and help protect your body from injury. In addition, the healing effect of Hot Yoga happens when movement and heat come together. Heat helps you sweat, and sweat is an important part of the natural healing since it enables the body to release toxins and excess fluids. Your skin is the largest elimination organ in the body. So the more you sweat, the more toxins you release, the better you feel. Plus it will help you lose weight!

Who is it for?

Hot Yoga is not just for the very flexible. In fact if you are not flexible, if you cannot touch your toes or perhaps even see your toes, you are a great candidate! There are benefits for everyone. No matter what physical shape you are in or what limitations you believe that you have, this form of exercise will help. Hot Yoga is purposely challenging so that you can move from where you are now to the place you want to be. Our focus is on "real life" flexibility, strength, endurance, and overall physical health.
